Jackson Freedom Fighters - Minutes
Friday, June 26, 2009 8:09 AM

Thank you Jackson Freedom Fighters for another great Tea Party Meeting!
It is so great to see dedication and involvement in 'regular people' who will not let our country be ruined without a fight!
At this meeting on July 24 at Fan's Pub in Jackson the following was discussed and decided:
John C. will MC the event and needs a list of all names to be introduced- this will be provided at our final meeting next week
Janet Longo has asked Fr. Scott from Jackson to do the Convocation and is awaiting response- David O. has voluteered if Fr. Scott cannot make it
David O. will lead the Pledge of Allegiance
The Nation Anthem will be sung by a Jackson 13 year old- Mychelle DeMarzo
Jackson Mayor Mike Reina will be introduced and will make statements
Janet Longo will lead in singing God Bless America
Announcements will be made about the hand-out table and the petition tables
Hand-outs to include- "I Want You", Freedom Isn't Free(George), Voter Registration Cards(David), NRA sing-up sheets(Beth L), "How to Get Involved"- info sheets- (Irene)
Petitions to be Signed- Tea Party Core Principles(Irene), 912 Project Coalition Sign-Up and DC bus sign up(Maureen)
Our youngest organizing Member Vinny has tentatively agreed to be the videographer of the event :)
Jon H. and Maureen will be finishing street banners and will deliver on Monday to town to be hung
We have received some financial donations to defray incurred expenses - thank you for those !- and we have received house signs from a Pest Control Company from Jackson that Janet and David have thanked
We are still in need of Bullhorns
Don A. announced that he was contacted by Americans For Prosperity- once again headed by Steve Lonegan since his loss in the primary- who would like to co-sponsor the event with us - this is great!!!! Steve has given us a tentative yes on speaking at our rally before he speaks at the Scotch Plains rally- just the fact that they contacted us is very positive about our exposure!!
Our speaker list is still tentative depending on the AFP group but is to include:
a nurse from Pt. Pleasant that Irene has contacted- about the effects of National Health Care
Fredy Lowe on 'the state of the nation"
the two poetry contest winners
one of our members reading Lincoln's words
"Do you agree.'...written by Don A. and read by Maureen
Two speakers found by John C. who will be present at our next meeting
Volunteers for Thursday night need to be in front of the EMS building at Johnson Park between 5 and 5:30 to hand out flyers which will be printed primarily by Jon H. but others are welcome to print as many as possible
we will approve music at the last meeting next week - please bring any and all that you think is appropriate - remembering different styles needed for different age groups
Maureen, Janet and David all have tables to bring and will coordinate
Easy up tents and coolers with water bottles and ice are needed in case of rain and for speakers
Announcements will be made periodically about clean up
We must stick to our 3 hour permitted time 12-3
Janet has corresponded with 101.5 and they have agreed to let Maureen answer questions regarding the Tea Party next week
Channel 12 has been contacted for coverage of the event and it would be great if everyone could either email or call them and any other media outlet to let them know about our event with Janet's Press Release or just the info about the time and place and that you think it should be covered
Keep contacting FoxNews, the Asbury Park Pres, etc, the more they hear, the more likely they are to cover us
Maureen has order shirts for $10 each and took orders for the organizers to wear these will be available by Monday so if you would like them before Thurs night contact me and we will set up a way for you to get them
Remember Kempton Flags is our friend and supporter!!
Our next and last meeting will be at the same place and time next week
July 31 , Wednesday, 7pm, Fan's Pub, Jackson
If I have missed anything important please email back and i will send it back out
Freedom isn't Free!!
You can't help the Weak by tearing down the Strong!!!

THOUGHTS ON TORTURE FROM COLONEL BUD DAY

The prelude to the "response" below, from Colonel Bud Day, Medal of Honor recipient - prisoner of war survivor - reads "I didn't expect to be reminded of my treatment some 36 years ago on this holiday weekend but our politicians find it worthy to ignore what some have tried to recount to them, who have actually been there."

****************************************************************************
"I got shot down over N Vietnam in 1967..a sq commander. After I returned in 1973.. I published 2 books that dealt a lot with "real torture" in Hanoi. Our make believe president is branding our country as a bunch of torturers when he has no idea what torture is. As for me..put thru a mock execution because I would not respond...pistol whipped on the head...same event.. Couple of days later...hung by my feet all day. I escaped and got recaptured a couple of weeks later.. I got shot and recaptured. Shot was OK...what happened after was not. They marched me to Vinh.. put me in the rope trick, trick..almost pulled my arms out of the sockets. Beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and my unshot, unbroken hand a pulp. Next day hung me by the arms...rebroke my right wrist...wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands..rolled my fingers up into a ball. Only left the slightest movement of my L forefinger. So I started answering with some incredible lies. Sent me to Hanoi strapped to a barrel of gas in the back of a truck. Hanoi..on my knees..rope trick again. Beaten by a big fool. Into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel. Much kneeling--hands up at Zoo. Really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson. Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone thru kneeling holes.
There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. I was the Senior Officer of a large building because of escape..they started a mass torture of all commanders. I think it was July 7, 1969..they started beating me with a car fan belt. In first 2 days I took over 300 strokes..then stopped counting because I never thought I would live thru it.. They continued day-nite torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees...fan belting.. cut open my scrotum with fan belt stroke. opened up both knee holes again. My fanny looked like hamburger..I could not lie on my back. They tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape..and that my 2 room-mates knew about it. The next day I denied the lie. They commenced torturing me again with 3- 6- or 9 strokes of the fan belt every day from about July 11 or 12rh..to 14 October 1969.
I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again. Now, the point of this is that our make-believe president has declared to the world that we (U.S.) are a bunch of torturers..
Thus it will be OK to torture us next time when they catch us....because that is what the U.S. does.
Our make-believe president is a know nothing fool who thinks that pouring a little water on some one's face, or hanging a pair of womens pants over an Arabs head is TORTURE.
He is a meathead. I just talked to MOH holder Leo Thorsness who was also in my sq in jail ..... as was John McCain ... and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was torture .. or that "water boarding" is torture.
Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a disgrace to the United States. Please pass this info on to Sean Hannity. He is free to use it to point out the stupidity of the claims that water boarding ...which has no after effect..... is torture. If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC ... hurrah for the guy who poured the water."
